Deed Restrictions
Deed Restrictions (Declaration of Restrictions)

The subdivision is divided into 5 different sections, based on the original development of the land dating back into the 1950's.  In order to determine which Declaration of Restrictions document below pertains to each specific property, you must know which section, or development phase the home was built.

The subdivision section information is stated in the legal description of the deed to the property.  Title companies may also have this information available from MLS.

Homeowners can look up their legal records on the BSAONLINE.COM website.  Search for your Street Address, then  under the "Tax Information" tab find the "Legal Description" information.  It should look similar to
T3N, R7E, SEC 9 HIGHLAND HILLS
T3N, R7E, SEC 9 HIGHLAND HILLS NO 1
T3N, R7E, SEC 9 HIGHLAND HILLS NO 2
T3N, R7E, SEC 9 HIGHLAND HILLS NO 3
T3N, R7E, SEC 9 HIGHLAND HILLS NO 4

Another way of finding  this information is by searching the Oakland County Register of Deeds website.  From this site, search for your Property ID or Street Address, then select one of the related docs, and look for the SUBDIVISION field, it should state one of the following:

0081003 HIGHLAND HILLS
0082029 HIGHLAND HILLS 1
0082031 HIGHLAND HILLS 2
0103020 HIGHLAND HILLS 3
0142001 HIGHLAND HILLS 4

Outside of these covenants and restrictions, we would refer to the Highland Charter Township ordinances for any further information.
